1. Click the “I've lost an item” button on the Foundspot homepage.
2. Follow the 4 simple registration steps, specifying what you've lost, when, and where, along with your contact information so we can notify you. The more details you provide, the easier it will be to locate your item.
3. If your item is found by ADIF staff, it will be sent to the lost and found office and registered on Foundspot. The system will then detect a match with your lost item and send you an email so you can confirm it and arrange for it to be shipped to your home.
It can take several days from the time lost items are found until they arrive at the Lost and Found Office, where they are registered on Foundspot.
You have 3 options for picking up your item:
You can pick it up in person at the Adif Customer Service and Lost and Found office at the station where it is being held.
If this option is not possible, you can send someone you trust, provided they have the item’s assigned registration number and a personal authorization letter that includes the ID numbers (DNI/NIE) of both parties.
Alternatively, you can arrange for a courier service on your own; you’ll need to provide them with the registration number and the authorization to pick up the item.
Once you receive your match notification email and have confirmed the match with your item, click the “Proceed to Shipping” button, fill out the shipping form, complete the payment by credit card, and you will receive your item at the mailing address you provide.
Lost and found items are handled by Adif’s own staff or authorized personnel. This process involves the registration, storage, safekeeping, and distribution of lost items that have been previously turned in at its offices.
The company Foundspot provides ADIF with its automation platform, which optimizes and streamlines the processes for returning lost items. Foundspot provides technical support to ADIF in the event of any issues that may arise.
IMPORTANT: You will only receive a notification if there is a match for your lost item.
We recommend that you follow these steps:
1. Check your Spam or Junk Mail folder: Sometimes, emails may be automatically filtered as spam.
2. Be patient: Make sure you’ve waited the amount of time specified in the “How It Works” section to receive the match notification email. The process of searching for and matching lost items can take some time, depending on the availability and workload of the team in charge.
